During his tenure as Art Director at CBS Records Canada and later as owner and lead designer of Modern Imageworks, one of the busiest graphics studios in the Canadian music business, Dean created hundreds of album covers, posters and promotions. Everything from New Wave to Classical, From Heavy Metal to Country Western. From radio station promos to rock videos.

Motter provided concept, graphic design, art direction and (when stylistically apropriate) illustrations. Many jacket designs garnered Juno Awards and nominations, Canada's equivalent to the Grammy Awards.

Dean continues to create thought-provoking/sales-enhancing packaging for a variety of musical genres including hip-hop, house, lounge, hard rock, country, heavy metal, techno and rap.
